Voca: เป็น

เป็น is very common and can mean "to be", "can/be able to" (skill-based), or "to have/be afflicted with" (illness, e.g. เป็นไข้ = have a fever). Do not confuse with อยู่ for location/residence. As adj. (rare): ยังเป็นอยู่ = still alive. Example: เขาเป็นครู = He is a teacher; เขาพูดไทยเป็น = He can speak Thai.
